ABOUT KATE ROBERTS THERAPY
Hello!
I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist who supports adults and teens live with less overwhelm and more joy.
It can take a while to reach out for help, so congrats, seriously. I help women, men, and non-binary folk navigate their emotions, habits, and relationships. My approach is relatable and relevant, working from the latest social science research and lived experience.

Approachability and a client-centred lens are important to me as a therapist so you can be vulnerable to share what is bothering you. This is your space to share what you have been thinking and feeling without worrying about others. I use a holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy that safely considers your mental, physical, spiritual, and social worlds. My areas of expertise are ADHD, anxiety, burnout, relationships, eating disorders, self-esteem, overwhelm, stress, and depression.
The therapies I prefer to use are Attachment-based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I come from front-line experience at Peterborough Social Services, York Region Social Services, Federal Social and Community Services in Peterborough-Kawarthas, Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre, and the Canadian Mental Heath Association of York Region. I would love to learn more about you. We can chat in-person at my cozy office in central Peterborough, or online anywhere in Ontario.

MY SERVICES
Anxiety + Stress Management
My approach is personable and provides a supportive and structured approach to help you navigate the challenges of anxiety and overwhelm.
I offer personalized strategies, coping techniques, and therapeutic interventions designed to reduce anxiety symptoms and improve overall well-being. I branch off of the works of Kristen Neff, Gabor Mate, Brene Brown, and bell hooks when it comes to supporting your stress and anxiety.
Trauma
Trauma can look 'big' or 'small'. It can be something that happened once or overtime.
The idea of what trauma entails still seems to be misunderstood in our society. Regardless, something that happened to you that continues to interrupt your life is enough for us to chat about. It was likely traumatic for you and it is may remind you of something else that is unsettling. Let's talk about it!
ADHD Support
ADHD Curious? Recently Diagnosed? Been living with it for a while?
Embracing your diagnosis can be easier said than done. We can talk about that. Neurodivergent brains view the world in a way that is not build for them. Let's enter that new reality and learn how to adjust to our new way of life, or let's find other ways to work with our awesomeness. There is nothing wrong with neurodivergent brains! Constructs in our society may have made people feel that way, but we can eliminate that stigma from our lives.
Relationship Development
Relationships can be difficult when we are not at our best or if we are lacking some skills to make it the best it can be.
I provide tailored guidance and support to help you overcome challenges, set achievable goals, and cultivate a positive mindset when entering or maintaining a relationship with friends, family, or a romantic partner. It is 100% easier to be alone. However, we are social beings. We need people! We can create ways for you to set boundaries, though, so you can protect your mental space when you are around people. We can discuss the reasons you are having difficulty and the tools to help you have more positive relationships.
